¡Buenos días! Hoy me toca a mí (Alex) hablaros sobre mi look. Algunos ya sabréis soy ilustrador y he trabajado como director de arte en publicidad y hoy me apetece contar algo de uno de mis artistas favoritos. Normalmente me gusta llevar camisetas básicas, pero el print de esta me encanta no solo por su valor estético, si no por lo que hay detrás . Igual pasa con Jean-Michael Basquiat autor de la obra.
A mi me interesa especialmente el arte que surge de la calle y Basquiat empezó su actividad pictórica a finales de los 70 pintando graffiti, siendo vagabundo en barrios marginales de Brooklyn y Bronx. Junto con Al Díaz bajo el seudónimo de SAMO© fueron autores de graffitis llenos de de carga poética, filosófica y satírica. A partir de los 80 influenciado por el expresionismo abstracto por los primeros trabajos de Jackson Pollock y las caligrafía de Cy twombly y dejó las paredes para dar el paso a los lienzos. La caligrafía esta presente en toda su obra y a mi personalmente me fascina.
En la Escuela de artes Visuales conoció a Keth Haring, a pesar de ser autodidacta acudía como oyente.Conoció a Andy Warhol durante una de sus exposiciones con quien tuvo una larga amistad y colaboración profesional.
